My Story, My Motivation

While working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, I encountered suffering patients, mostly from rural areas seeking medical care for various health problems. Many were children, pregnant women, and less privileged individuals. I discovered that most medical conditions resulted from preventable significant disparities in health education and access to essential health services. Witnessing the struggles of individuals who lacked the necessary knowledge and resources to make informed health decisions, I felt compelled to take action.

My journey began with a simple yet powerful belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve their best possible health. My immediate response was to talking to each of these patients in my office as I received them for their routine laboratory workup (individual talks). Exhausted each day, I shifted to ward talks, where I often go to the wards to educate patients. However, I believed those I talked to were just a tip of the iceberg, and that the masses were in the communities. This thought brought another shift to another approach, the community talks. Each weekend, I would go to the community, gather people and talk to them about disease prevention.

From individual talks through ward talks, and to community talks, I saw firsthand the impact that health education and accessible health services could have on individuals and their families. However, it was not just a bed of roses, as I was faced with some significant challenges, amongst were the lack of (1) proper organization, (2) development of comprehensive health education and promotion programs and projects, and (3) involvement of others with this important activity.

This understanding drove me to startup my master program in Public Health in 2018, and one year later (in 2019), initiate the establishment of an organization dedicated to breaking down barriers through comprehensive programs and providing the tools and support needed for people to take full control of their health.

Through health education, promotion, outreach, and advocacy, our organization aims to empower individuals to lead healthier, more informed lives. Our passion for community well-being fuels our efforts every day as we work tirelessly to create a world where everyone has the knowledge and resources to thrive. Together, we can build a healthier future for all.
